The Dimensions of Globalization has been discussed earlier by our professor. It is said that Manfred Steger, a professor of Global Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, claimed that globalization has four dimensions.

To begin with, dimension came from the the Latin word “dimetiri”, which means “to measure out”. It typically means that dimension  is a measurement such as length, width, or height. Although, if we are talking about the dimension of an object or a place, then we are referring to its size or proportions.

So, what are the dimensions of globalization? The first one is the economic dimension or undoubtely the supreme form of globalization. This refers to the scope of the public and private sectors to enforce profitable practices from the economic point of view.

Next is the political dimension or the intensification and expansion of political interrelations around the globe. This refer to any social or cultural entity, from the smallest interaction up to the interaction which involves the whole country.

The third dimension is the intensification and expansion of cultural flows across the globe, it is called cultural dimension.

Lastly, globalization utilizes converge “ideological dimension” that reflects the beliefs and interests of a nation, political system and etc.

We had a brief discussion about the introduction of globalization under the subject "The Contemporary World" with Prof. Rommel Mariano. The said discussion was not dull at all since our professor knows how to instruct the topic well in a pleasant manner. I can say that everyone in the class relished, including our professor.

So, what is globalization? It is when there is an interaction and integration between the people, companies and governments around the world. It means that there is will be a rapid increase in sharing economic activities such as businesses and organizations taking place across national borders.
How can we say that there is globalization? Well, we can state that there is globalization when the international trade increases at a faster rate, increase in international flow of capital, greater trans-border data flow, cultural exchange and more.
Are you Pro or Anti-globalization? Globalization can lift people out of poverty as it increased job opportunities in capital-scarce, labor-rich countries and developing countries. It also increased our knowledge about technology which we uses today. Technology nowadays are necessary especially during this pandemic days that we need to be distanced with one another. In such way, technology connects us.
We all know how much the world had changed and there is nothing wrong with it. We all know that change itself is inevitable and the only thing we can do is to accept and adapt to it. So as with globalization. We adapt, we develop, we succeed.
